Pasta in Sweet Chilli and Sriracha Sauce

This Pasta recipe in Sweet Chilli and Sriracha Sauce is my go-to recipe when I want something quick, flavour-forward, and a little unexpected. I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with bold, global flavours, and this dish reflects that approach—combining the familiar comfort of pasta with the vibrant heat of sriracha and the subtle sweetness of sweet chilli sauce.

The result is a well-balanced, contemporary fusion that feels both indulgent and refined.

This dish is versatile, adaptable, and endlessly comforting. I have used Fettuccine but you are free to use Penne Pasta or even noodles as well.

Ingredients

Ingredient List of Pasta in Sweet Chilli and Sriracha Sauce
  • Boiled Pasta – the base of the dish; carries the sauce and flavors
  • Sriracha Sauce – adds heat, garlicy spice, and depth
  • Black Pepper – gives sharp, earthy heat and boosts overall spice
  • Piri Piri Masala – adds bold chili heat and tangy, smoky flavor
  • Nutmeg Powder – adds warm, slightly sweet aroma and complexity
  • Cinnamon Powder – gives subtle sweetness and warmth to balance the heat
  • Sweet Chilli Sauce – adds sweetness and mild spice for balance
  • Olive Oil – adds richness, helps carry flavors, and lightly coats the pasta

How To Make It?

Step 1: Prepare the sauce base

Take a clean, heatproof mixing bowl and add all the ingredients except the boiled pasta. This includes the Sriracha sauce, sweet chilli sauce, black pepper, piri piri masala, nutmeg powder, and cinnamon powder. Make sure the bowl is large enough to later hold the pasta as well.

At this stage, you’re building the flavour base of the dish, so adding everything together first helps the spices and sauces blend evenly.

Step 2: Add sauces first, then spices

Begin by pouring in the Sriracha sauce and sweet chilli sauce into the bowl. These sauces form the main body of the flavour — one brings heat, while the other adds sweetness.

Once the sauces are in, sprinkle in the black pepper, piri piri masala, nutmeg powder, and cinnamon powder. Adding spices after the sauces helps prevent them from clumping and ensures they dissolve smoothly into the mixture.

Step 3: Heat the oil and bloom the flavours

Heat olive oil in a small pan over a medium flame until it becomes hot but not smoking. Carefully pour the hot oil into the prepared sauce-and-spice mixture

This step is important because the hot oil helps release the aroma and deepen the flavour of the spices, giving the sauce a more rich and rounded taste. Be cautious while pouring to avoid splashes.

Step 4: Mix into a smooth, even sauce

Using a spoon or spatula, mix everything together thoroughly until the sauces and spices combine into a smooth, glossy mixture.

Make sure there are no visible clumps of spice and that the oil is fully incorporated. This step ensures that every bite of pasta will be evenly coated with the bold sweet-and-spicy flavour.

Step 5: Add the pasta and coat well

Now add the boiled pasta to the bowl.

Gently but thoroughly toss the pasta in the sauce mixture, making sure each strand or piece is well coated. Take your time here—proper mixing is what makes the dish taste consistent and flavorful throughout.

Step 6: Serve fresh and hot

Once the pasta is fully coated, the dish is ready to be served. You can plate it immediately while it’s warm for the best flavour and texture.

Optionally, you can finish with a light drizzle of olive oil or a sprinkle of black pepper on top for extra aroma and visual appeal. Serve as a quick meal or a spicy snack.
