Tangy Mango Soup
This Mango Soup is one of those recipes that feels tangy, fresh, comforting, and a little different from regular soups.

The tanginess comes from a combination of using a slightly ripe mango and a raw mango (both blended together to form a puree).
I love how the taste of mango blends beautifully with the slight tartness of tomatoes and the warmth of Indian spices. This soup has a smooth, bright flavor that works well as a light starter, an evening snack, or even a refreshing summer recipe. The best part is that it needs only a few basic ingredients and comes together without much effort. I like serving it warm, but it can also be enjoyed slightly chilled if you prefer a more refreshing taste.
Ingredients
- Chopped tomatoes
- Mango puree – I have mixed one raw mango and one slightly ripe mango. This makes sure that the soup is tasty and tangy.
- Roasted cumin powder – It adds an earthy, smoky flavor that makes the soup more aromatic.
- Coriander powder – This brings mild warmth and depth to the soup.
- Red chilli powder or roasted paprika powder – It adds a little heat and color. Paprika is a good option for a milder taste.
- Water – Use is as required.
- Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Powdered Sugar, only if the soup is extra tangy
How To Make Tangy Mango Soup?
Heat a pan on medium flame and add the chopped tomatoes.
Cook the tomatoes for a few minutes until they become soft and slightly mushy. Stir occasionally so they do not stick to the pan. Add the turmeric powder after that.

Add roasted cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chilli powder or roasted paprika powder. Mix everything well and cook for 1–2 minutes so the spices release their flavor.

Add the mango puree and stir nicely until it combines with the tomatoes and spices.

Cook the mixture on a low flame for a few minutes. Keep stirring in between so the soup cooks evenly.
Add some water to adjust the consistency. Use less water for a thicker soup and more water for a lighter soup.
Add salt as required and mix well.

Let the soup simmer slowly on a low flame for 5–7 minutes. This helps the flavors blend together beautifully.
Once the soup looks smooth and well-cooked, turn off the flame.

If you feel that the soup is too tangy, you can add powdered sugar just like I have added here. This takes away the extra tanginess.

Serve the tangy mango soup warm, or let it cool slightly if you prefer a refreshing version.

How To Serve This Recipe?
I like serving this Mango Soup as a light starter before lunch or dinner. It tastes lovely when served warm in small soup bowls with a little roasted cumin powder sprinkled on top. You can also garnish it with fresh coriander leaves, a swirl of cream, or a few crushed roasted nuts for extra texture.
If you are serving it during summer, you can cool the soup slightly and enjoy it as a refreshing appetizer. It pairs well with toasted bread, garlic bread, light sandwiches, or simple crackers. This soup is also a nice option when you want something fruity, tangy, and comforting without making a heavy meal.
